Update
2004:
The 2.0lt engine has been removed and a USDM 2.5
short motor has been fitted using all the 2.0lt bolt on parts,
heads, manifolds etc.
The 2.5 has been fitted with forged CP pistons,
I have also fitted a AVO440/450 HP turbo, along with an 02 STI
TMIC. It is happy now to run 1.5bar with huge amounts of torque
on tap, it is able to make 22psi at 3200 under full load, max
torque is around 3800, max power around 6800. I am yet to get
it on the dyno, but expect it to be 220-230kw ATW.__________________________________________________________
This
is my STI Aust delivery V5, it was bought second hand in Sydney
and is an Ex Subaru General Managers car. The first thing to have
fitted was the 17" OZ wheels. The mods that I have done have
been a long term project of testing and development.
For my exhaust, cold air and better cooling, my goal was to get
the most form the STD turbo, IC and air box. I have fitted my
own exhaust, cold air duct and a samco turbo inlet hose, tilted
the std IC up, and made the scoop higher, along with an IC air
splitter and water spray. This combination keeps the intake temps
down. I run an EBC, to control boost to 19.5 psi peak, holding
18 psi to redline.
A unichip was fitted to sort the fuelling out, and I have worked
on that to get the best tune for low speed spooling. The result
is 182 kw ATW @ 5600rpm in 4th gear (std STI is 116kw) with neck
snapping torque. 0-100kph is 4.2 seconds and 1/4 mile 12.2 seconds.
