The
Intercooler Tilt kit is something that I developed for the 97-00 wrx/sti
after Subaru released the MY01 with its IC tilted up. What caught my
attention was the point they made, saying that it was 9.8% more efficient.
I
tested lifting the rear of the IC up with spacers and found a remarkable
drop in tempuratures, up to 8 deg post IC and a very good gain in torque
throughout the boosted rpm range. The idea is that air flows through
the fins from the scoop more freely and under the car, the air moving
under the car also helps to pull the air flow through the core.
It also adds to a greater angle to point the air in a more direct aproach
into the manifold through the throttle body.
It
is made to fit the OEM IC, and works well with water spray and/or
IC air splitters.
